So… I love this author， but I didn’t like the first in this series。 It didn’t grab me at all。 I can barely remember it now， but I’m going to give this one a try。 Mainly to see if there will be any more Aidas encounters。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I CANNOT BELIEVE SHES GOING TO LEAVE US LIKE THIS。 This was action packed from the beginning which I enjoyed and will capture readers from the go。 I will say I wasn’t as consumed by the world as before。 Being back with daddy athie was everything and seeing Bryce and hunts relationship grow was everything I needed。 There will be a lot of growth and a lot of things what will leave you like wtf lol。 I loved that I got to know all of the characters better。 A lot of cliffhangers were left for book 3 I CANNOT BELIEVE SHES GOING TO LEAVE US LIKE THIS。 This was action packed from the beginning which I enjoyed and will capture readers from the go。 I will say I wasn’t as consumed by the world as before。 Being back with daddy athie was everything and seeing Bryce and hunts relationship grow was everything I needed。 There will be a lot of growth and a lot of things what will leave you like wtf lol。 I loved that I got to know all of the characters better。 A lot of cliffhangers were left for book 3 for everyone。 The asteri … whew！ I cannot wait for book 3。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I think I might just be in love with the dynamics between Ruhn， Declan， Flynn and Ithan。 And just all of them in general as people。The characters in this book were， as ever， amazing。 Every single one of them was well rounded， with their own motivations， feelings and processes that make sense based on individual backstories and personalities and I *love* that！！ I love how each character would react differently to a scenario because it shows why each character is vital！ While I absolutely ADORED t I think I might just be in love with the dynamics between Ruhn， Declan， Flynn and Ithan。 And just all of them in general as people。The characters in this book were， as ever， amazing。 Every single one of them was well rounded， with their own motivations， feelings and processes that make sense based on individual backstories and personalities and I *love* that！！ I love how each character would react differently to a scenario because it shows why each character is vital！ While I absolutely ADORED the relationships between side characters in this， I found Bryce and Hunt were a bit boring towards the end。 They were a lovely couple and all， but I didn’t notice much development in their relationship over the course of the book and so some of the heart-wrenching scenes didn’t have quite as much impact on me as they were probably supposed to。I feel like the plot here had a good balance of mundane things and suitably world-ending things - enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and give the book something to talk about， but still making you really love and relate to the characters。 Having said that， I felt like the ending was a bit anticlimactic and especially the last few pages were a bit of a let down。 The whole book was building up to this big moment at the end， and I *liked* the big moment， but also the whole thing lasted about 10 pages in an 800 page book so I felt a little short changed。 And the big plot twist makes me apprehensive because it honestly sounds like a plot from a fanfic （and when I say that， I mean it’s definitely a plot from fanfic） and also （big spoilers） as much as I love those characters， if I wanted to read about them right now I wouldn’t have picked up crescent city。I’m also going to mention that I was actually really impressed with the representation in this book。 Some of the older books from this author have ambiguous references to diversity， but I was super happy to read about some more clearly depicted representation。 There’s still a way to go with the main characters， but there were five fairly prominent lgbtq+ characters （plus a minor character as a love interest whom I adore） in same-sex relationships， and I can’t remember specifics but I noticed various references to characters having brown or dark skin as opposed to ‘golden’， as well as to Bryce’s ‘supple hips’， which was really cool to see。Overall， I did enjoy this a lot， but I’m slightly worried about the next book because I don’t think I like where it’s going。 。。。more
